Nitro-Phos Super Turf Spreader Settings

Nitro-Phos 19-4-10 Super Turf fertilizer is carefully formulated to treat and maintain lawns during warm months. This product contains a blend of iron, magnesium, manganese, and zinc to promote healthy root growth and give plants all the nutrients they need to flourish during the sr months.

Its unique formula has a slow-release Nitrogen that improves the greenery of grass while keeping mowing to a minimum. To apply Nitro-Phos Super Turf fertilizer, you will need a lawn spreader and a scale to help you measure the correct amount of product in pounds. You will also need a measuring tool to measure your yard area.

The application rate of  Nitro-Phos Super Turf fertilizer is 5 pounds per 1000 square feet. So if your lawn measures 2400 square feet, for instance, you will need 12 pounds of fertilizer (5 × 2.4 sq. ft). To calibrate your spreader, set it at a notch or two above the halfway dial settings to calibrate your spreader. If you have 20 settings, 11 or 12 will be a good starting point.

Nitro-Phos Barricade Spreader Settings

Nitro-Phos Barricade Pre-emergent herbicide is a versatile granular herbicide that can be used on various types of grasses. It is used to counter the growth of grassy, broadleaf weeds on lawns and gardens. This product contains prodiamine and is designed to effectively control weeds on established lawns by leaving a barrier on the soil post-application.

This barrier left on the soil stops the weeds from sprouting, thereby allowing your lawn to thrive free of weeds. Being a pre-emergent herbicide, this product must be applied before weed seeds have germinated or after removing previously established weeds to reduce the chances of reoccurring.

Nitro-Phos Barricade Granular Pre-emergent herbicide can be used during the spring and the fall. To apply this product, we recommend using a push broadcast spreader for larger lawns to achieve the best results. Depending on your specie of grass, the application rate of this product ranges from 1.5 to 4 pounds of the product per 1000 square feet.

For instance, if you have perennial ryegrass on your lawn, the labeled rate is 2 pounds per 1000 square feet. Your lawn spreader settings should be one-fourth of the dial rate or a notch higher.

So if your dial rate goes up to 20, you should use 4 or 5. For spreaders with few dial setting ranges like 5, you can set the spreader to 3 or 2. Calibrate your spreader accordingly, and make adjustments to the settings if necessary.

Nitro-Phos Bug Out Spreader Settings

If you start to notice damages on your lawn, especially around concrete walkways and your driveways, you might have a case of bug infestation at hand. Bugs thrive primarily on drought-stressed grasses, so if you do not give your lawn the water it needs through a proper irrigation system, and it hasn’t been raining in your region, that’s an open invitation to bugs.

Bug infestation on your lawn is bad because as they eat the grass, they suck out its juice and inject toxins into it. Nitro-Phos Bug Out Max is a granular lawn and garden insecticide that keeps bug infestation on your lawn at bay. You simply need to apply the product using a spreader and water afterward.

10 pounds of the product covers 5000 square feet of lawn area, so you can expect 2 pounds of the product to cover 1000 square feet sufficiently. One-third of your total dial settings is a great starting point to calibrate your spreader.

Nitro-Phos 15-5-10 Spreader Settings

Nitro-Phos Imperial Lawn fertilizer is a granular fertilizer with a 15-5-10 core analysis. This product contains 2% Iron, 15% Sulphur, and other trace elements that would improve lawn health, boost greenery and reduce weed growth. It has a quick-release formula that ensures immediate results, leaving your lawn beautiful with a vibrant green shade.

To spread the product, you can use either a hand or push spreader to spread the product. The general application rate for Nitro-Phos Imperial Lawn fertilizer is 5 pounds per 1000 square feet. Set your spreader a notch or two above half of the total dial settings and commence spreading operations.

Nitro-Phos Weed and Feed Spreader Settings

Nitro-Phos Weed and Feed with Trimec is both a fertilizer and weed killer. Talk about killing two birds with one stone, huh? This product likewise contains a core analysis of 15-5-10, but unlike the Imperial Lawn fertilizer, it has a slow-release formulation.

It controls broadleaf and other common weeds on your lawn like chock weed, clover, and dandelion, while still feeding your lawn with the right dose of nutrients to keep it vibrant and beautiful.

The application rate for Nitro-Phos Weed and Feed is 3.2 pounds per 1000 square feet. So if you have a yard that measures 2000 square feet, you will need 6.4 pounds of the product. The spreader settings for the Imperial Lawn fertilizer apply here as well. Calibrate the spreader accordingly until you achieve your desired results.

Safe Use of Pesticides

When exposed, pesticides can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, or absorption by the skin and eyes. Of all the different body parts, the skin is the most exposed, so it is important to cover as much of the body as possible. Follow these guidelines to apply pesticides in and around your home safely:

  1. Make sure you wear the required items of protective clothing as the label recommends, including non-absorbent gloves, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks, and closed shoes. You could also wear eye protection goggles and remove contact lenses before mixing or applying pesticides.
  2. Never smoke or eat when mixing or applying the pesticide, as you could carry some of the traces from your hands to your mouth. Some pesticides could also be flammable.
  3. Always mix or dilute pesticides outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
  4. Keep children, pets, and toys away from the areas of mixing and application.
  5. Never put pesticides into food containers. Ensure that they are continually kept in their original containers, which should identify them as pesticides.
  6. Only mix the amount required for each application.
  7. If a spill occurs, clean up immediately. Do not wash off. Instead, sprinkle the spill with sawdust or vermiculite, sweep it and dispose of it as directed on the product packaging.
