Here are the ideal settings for applying lime to your lawn. But before using our guide, we suggest that you check the settings on the manual of your guide for extra advice.

If you are using the Scotts Turf Drop Spreader, you will have to adjust the device based on the coverage area. For instance, 10 pounds of pellets per 1000 sq ft will require a setting of 11.5 while 30 pounds ( for the same area) works with a setting of 12. As for 40 and 50 pounds, you will have to set the spreader dial to 15.5 and 17.5 respectively.

As with most Scotts Spreaders, you can set the device before applying lime. If you want to apply 10 lbs worth of lime on 1000 sq ft, set the dial to 11.5 while 30 pounds is ideal for a setting of 12. As for the 40 pounds, keep the dial at 15.5 and 50 pounds at 17.5.

Scotts Basic spreaders also have their settings for liming. For 30 pounds per 1000 sq ft, stick with a setting of 10 while 40 pounds works best with 7.5 sq ft ( go twice over the area). As for 50 pounds choose 7 but move over the area three times.

The Turf Builder Deluxe is another great item for liming your yard. If you want to perform the task on 1000 sq ft, use a setting of 10 for 30 pounds worth of pellets. As for 40 pounds, choose a setting of 7.5 and move over the area twice. However, you can apply 50 pounds of the product with a setting of 7 and go over the area three times.

If you want to use an Edgeguard Mini spreader for liming around 30lbs per 1000 sq ft, adjust the spreader to 10. As for the 40lbs per 1000 sq ft, 7.5 and move over the area twice. However, use a setting of 7 for 50 lbs per 1000 sq ft.

As you use the Easy Green Spreader for liming around 1000 sq ft, choose 28 for 10 pounds worth of lime. As for 40 pounds, leave the spreader at 27 and go four times over the target area. If you want to work with 50 lbs, pick 27 but go over the areas 4 five times

Before adding lime, test the pH level of the soil. After all, this task allows you to determine the amount of lime pellets needed for your yard. Besides, the test determines the duration of the liming procedure.
